What's In My Handbag Tag

Hello everybody!

I've recently bought a new handbag.
I carry this bag around with me on a pretty much everyday basis. I thought I'd share with you what's in it!

The bag is nothing designer - it's actually from Primark and it was around £12. That's a bargain, if you ask me.

The bag is actually very useful because it is quite big and has lots of space. It has one main compartment which can be done up by a magnet, two smaller compartments either side with zips, and then three small pockets.

In my handbag, I have:

  • iPhone 4 (I know, I have an old phone)
  • iPod Touch 5
  • Purse from Claire's
  • Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in 02 Cool Medium
  • Avon Super Shock Max Mascara in Black
  • Makeup Gallery Shine On Lipgloss in Ballerina Pink (don't know why this is in my bag, I hate it)
  • 2 Active Cosmetics Lipgloss Palettes
  • Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick in 40
  • Vaseline Petroleum Jelly in Rosy Lips
  • Mini L'Oreal Paris Elnett Satin Hairspray
  • Superdrug Naturally Radiant Brightening Eye Cream
  • Dior Addict Sample Perfume
  • Hair grips
  • Address book
  • Chewing gum
And that's what's in my handbag! I tag you all to do it so I can see what interesting things you have in your bags.

D.I.Y Decorative Hair Ties

Hello everybody!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, that's just because I want to ensure my content is as high-quality as possible :)

Because I like crafting and designing, I have a lot of spare materials lying around that I don't use.

They're most likely going to be thrown away, so I decided to make something out of them. I don't have a lot of hair accessories, so what better to make than some cute hair ties?

All you need is elastic (preferably coloured or patterned to make it look nicer), scissors and a lighter.

What you need to do is take your elastic and measure the length of your wrist. Cut to size with the scissors. Fold it in half and tie a knot at the end. Get a lighter and wave it over the edges of the elastic to avoid fray. Then just use as a normal hair tie!

Ta-dah! This is such a simple, easy, cheap D.I.Y which takes literally minutes to do. It looks so cute in the hair and I think it'd be a great thing to wear in Spring :)

Maybelline Babylips

Hello everybody!

So if you didn't already know I have very dry lips especially in the colder months so a good lip balm is an absolute must-have!

A few months ago, I found out about Maybelline Babylips but it's only maybe a week ago that I bought my first few.

I'd had loads of recommendations from friends to try them out so I did (my friend Aimee is obsessed with them ... pretty sure she has every one of them)

The thing that really stood out to me was that they have a colour as well as a scent. This makes the lip balm for me a bit more enjoyable and special to wear.

As far as moisturising goes these are really good! For some reason (no idea why) but I find that despite what I said above, the ones with less colour actually moisturise my lips more.

But yeah, really recommend these pretty sure you've heard loads of raving reviews already but let me tell you again they are in fact amazing.

Here is my collection:

  • Cherry Me. Where do I start with this one? The colour is fantastic with so much pigmentation and the smell is dreamy it smells just like cherries.
  • Pink Punch. Probably my least favourite out of the three but don't get me wrong it's still an amazing lip balm. It has a bright pink colour but doesn't have a particular scent.
  • Peach Punch. Ugh so good can't get enough! Probably the simplest of the three but I feel like it's more softening for my lips and it does smell really nice!

My Makeup Collection 2015

Hello everybody!

Today I thought I'd share my makeup collection with you and hopefully I'll help you make a few purchases.

I'm going to try to make this post as short as possible as there is a lot to get through.

Skin makeup

  • George Super Boost Foundation in No1 Ivory Silk. I don't recommend this because it's way too streaky, hard to blend and dark for my skin tone even though this is the lightest shade.
  • Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in 02 Cool Medium. This is my Holy Grail concealer, highly recommend this!
  • Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer in 010 Ivory. Another one of my faves!
  • Avon Concealer Stick. If your skin is amazing but you just need a slight touch up this is perfect for you. But if you have dark circles or blemishes you might want to look for more coverage.
  • No7 Creme Touch Face Powder in 12 Honey Milk. It's a little too cakey for me but if you like your makeup like that this is a really good powder.
  • Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in 001 Transparent. Love love love this, I'm sure you've heard amazing things about it but let me tell you again, this is one of the best powders out there.
  • Technic Bronzer Duo Set 1. This comes with two colours, a light and a dark brown. Cute packaging but I find it's really hard to apply as the compounds are way too small.
  • Technic High Lights Liquid Highlighter. Great dupe for High Beam by Benefit, in fact the packaging is identical, but this looks a bit too unnatural for me as it's really glittery and this shows up on your face.
  • Collection Gorgeous Glow Blush Block. Again, too unnatural for me, but it's really pigmented. It acts as a blusher, bronzer and highlighter with gold and pink shades.

Eye makeup

  • Flutter Eye Shadow Palette. I bought this for a friend but somehow I ended up getting it back! There is a light pink, a sparkly silver, a mauve, a taupe and a dark sparkly pink. Again, really cute packaging but the content disappointed me. The shadows aren't pigmented at all, are hard to blend and just aren't the colours I would wear.
  • Active Cosmetics Eye Shadow. This palette contains four colours including a light pink, a lilac, a mauve and a dark purple. These are a lot more pigmented than the Flutter palette and are way easier to blend.
  • No7 Stay Perfect Eye Shadow. This is something my nan gave me. I really like it, it's a dark purple infused with glitter. The only time I wear this would be for a party or night out because it's definitely not something I would wear everyday (I stick to subtle smokey eyes) but the shadow is amazing. So pigmented and lasts ages.
  • George Glamour'eyes Precision Liquid Liner in 18 Sorcerer. Like I said in my Mac Cremesheen Dupe post, I hate this and don't recommend it. Way too watery, smudges really easily and is just hard to apply.
  • Avon Super Extend Extreme Mascara. Again something my nan gave me but I really don't like it. It doesn't make your lashes look long or full at all ... and it's blue mascara. Not what I would wear but if you like the sound of it go for it.
  • Avon Super Shock Max Mascara. This mascara is way different, first of all it's black and actually does what it advertises. Really recommend this as it makes your lashes look long and black and doesn't create clumps.
  • Barry M Lash Vegas Mascara. This mascara is okay, I prefer Avon Super Shock Max but I definitely recommend this to people who have more money to spend.

Lip makeup

  • Kate Moss Lipstick in 40. What can I say? It's a nude with orange undertones ... super moisturising and pigmented ... love love love! If you're obsessed with nude lipsticks, I really recommend this!
  • Avon Lipstick ?  Don't know the shade but it is like a raisin colour. It's not my colour, but if you like dark colours like this I really advise you get it.
  • George Lipstick in 17 Small Talk. This lipstick is amazing! I raved about it in my Mac Cremesheen Dupe post, so if you are interested you can read it and see what you think.
  • Technic in 20605 Sassy. This is a bright pink, but I find it very wearable is it is similar to Frost finishes by Mac. It just leaves a sheer wash of colour on the lips. As for pigmentation, not too great but then again it is a sheer lippie.
  • Avon Perfect Wear Plump and Stay lipstick/lipgloss. I'm confused about this one as it applies like a lipgloss but looks and feels like a lipstick. Anyway, this is double sided and comes with the coloured lippie itself and then a primer that keeps it on for longer. The colour is a dark purple mauve so I prefer wearing this in the winter really.
  • Avon Extra Lasting Plump and Stay. Pretty much the same as Perfect Wear but I think it's a newer version. The colour is exact too.
  • Makeup Gallery Shine On Lipgloss. I love this colour, it's like a pink-nude, which I'm obsessed with as you know, but everything else about it is really bad. It's too gloopy, doesn't last long at all and is really drying for your lips.
  • 2 Active Cosmetics Lip Gloss palettes. I really don't like these for the same reasons as above, but the colours are beautiful. There is a bright pink, dark mauve, orangey-nude and dark orange.

And that's all, if you have any questions or requests let me know.

Bargainous Beauty Haul

Hello everybody!

When I go into town, I love looking in the shops for good bargains.

In the beauty department, I'm usually very lucky. There are normally a lot of sales so I grab everything on offer.

Today I wanted to show these products. This is going to be a collective haul over about a few months.

  • ovs Eyeshadow brush. For a cheapo brush it's not too shabby - it applies eyeshadow really well and does a good job at blending it. Recommend for those on a budget!
  • Eyelash curlers from George. Got to be honest, this is my first pair of eyelash curlers and I was a bit hesitant to buy cheap ones (heard stories that they can snap off eyelashes - ouch) but they work like a charm. Instantly perks up your eyelashes and makes you look a lot more awake.
  • Collection Gorgeous Glow in 1 Blush Block. This works as a blush, bronzer and highlighter all in one. It has tones of pink and gold, all you do is use a big brush to apply. Love it, but less is definitely more with this product. Trust me.
  • Bronzer Duo Set 1. Unfortunately the brand is unknown but if you want to get it, look for a brown tub with a curved lid. Inside there is a light and a dark shade and even comes with a brush (although I don't recommend you use it.) I got it from Bodycare. Again, I love it, really pigmented and suits all skintones, but less is more as of all bronzers.
  • No7 Stay Perfect Eyeshadow. If you didn't already know, if you spend a certain amount of money on No7 products you get a free package including two BB creams, a lipstick, an eyeshadow and maybe some other things. My nan got sent this free package and didn't like the eyeshadow so she gave it to me. It's a dark, glittery purple, perfect for nights out or when you want a dramatic look. I rarely wear it but when I do it looks amazing, it's highly pigmented, long-lasting and has high colour payoff.
  • Rimmel London Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Eyeliner in 001 Black. I have hardly any of it left, this is because it's really creamy so it wears down quickly but also because it's amazing and I wear it often. Goes on really smoothly and doesn't smudge.
  • Barry M Lash Vegas Mascara. Not too keen on this. Fab packaging and isn't clumpy, but it doesn't really make my lashes look very long. Unless you can be bothered to curl your eyelashes every day, I would stick to other mascaras.
  • Makeup Gallery Shine On Lipgloss in Ballerina Pink. Again, this is a product I would avoid. It was £1 for 5ml which is actually a little expensive, and plus it really isn't a good lipgloss. The consistency of it is just too thick and gloopy and definitely doesn't have a good colour payoff. Doesn't last long at all and dries your lips out like crazy.
If you want a more-in depth review of one of these products let me know.

Products I Can't Live Without Tag

Hello everybody!

Today I thought I would do the Products I Can't Live Without Tag. I was tagged by my gorgeous friend Jodie :)

  • Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in 02 Cool Medium. This is my Holy Grail concealer, I'm sure you've heard tons of raving reviews about it. This concealer covers blemishes, pimples, redness and even tackles dark circles. It's amay-zay!
  • Avon Super Shock Max Mascara in Black. I can't go out without a bit of mascara - I don't look awake otherwise. It's my favourite makeup item because it can really make you look awake and add so much drama to your look. This one is amazing as it sends your lashes sky high without clumps.
  • Next Pucker Up Lip Balm in Raspberry. My lips get extremely dry and cracked, especially in the colder months, so a good lip balm is essential for me. It's hard finding a lip balm that isn't greasy but moisturises your lips at the same time. This one is amazing, it moisturises your lips and you don't have to keep reapplying it - a little goes a long way. I also love the raspberry scent. Not only that but the price was ridiculously cheap at something like £3.
  • Carex Moisture Plus Hand Gel. I love this! Like my lips, my hands get dry very easily so I'm constantly on the lookout for a quality hand gel. I found this one particularly helpful for me as it not only restores moisture to your hands, it kills the germs. Really easy, perfect for when you're travelling or on-the-go.
  • Superdrug Naturally Radiant Brightening Eye Cream. I have huge dark circles, so an eye cream is a must-have. This one is fantastic because not only does it moisturise, soften and refresh the eyes, over time it reduces the appearance of dark circles. After using this I feel a lot more confident and don't feel the need for lots of concealer.
  • Beauty Formulas Deep Cleansing Nose Pore Strips. If you get a lot of blackheads like me, you might want to look into nose strips. They effortlessly remove dirt from your pores and leave them healthy and clean. These ones are great because, if removed correctly, there is no pain involved.
  • Avon Maximum Wear Top And Base Coat. This is brilliant! I couldn't live without this because it protects your nails, reduces the chance of them staining and leaves a beautiful shine on your nails. When used as a top coat, it acts as a primer to leave your polish lasting longer. This is seriously like magic in a bottle, it's a miracle worker so go and try it!
That's all, if you want a more detailed review on one of these products or have any questions or requests let me know.

I'm A Shopaholic

Hello everybody!

As you know, I love shopping. And the other day I went shopping and bought everything from fashion to beauty.

I thought I'd share my buys with you because it might help you pick a few things your interested in.

First I went into Boots (which had a 3 for 2 sale) and bought:

3 Maybelline Babylips Lipbalm in Pink Punch, Cherry Me and Peach Punch. I've heard raving reviews about these and my friend Aimee recommended them to me. My lips get extremely dry in the colder months so a good lip balm is an essential.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer in 010 Ivory. Again, I've heard amazing things about this concealer so I had to try it out. I've ran out of the concealer I usually use (Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in 02 Cool Medium, which is also really good) so I thought I'd try something new.

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in 001 Transparent. This is many people's go-to powders so I decided to pick one up and join those people. I picked up transparent because I don't like my makeup being too cakey or dark.

Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick in 40. I really wanted a new nude lipstick (because I'm obsessed with them and my favourite type of lippie) so I tried them all out and this is the only one I liked. The other ones were way too dark and this one is a subtle orange toned nude.

Vaseline Rosy Lips Petroleum Jelly. I really need a Vaseline as it is like a miracle in a tin. It not only softens your lips but it can be used for hair growth and other remedies.

Then I went into New Look and bought:

A dark maroon dress which was just under £20. It's made of super silky, soft material and it comes down to the feet. It is very flowy and free but is tight at the waist.

If you have any questions or requests let me know in the comments. Have a good day!
