Maybelline Babylips

Hello everybody!

So if you didn't already know I have very dry lips especially in the colder months so a good lip balm is an absolute must-have!

A few months ago, I found out about Maybelline Babylips but it's only maybe a week ago that I bought my first few.

I'd had loads of recommendations from friends to try them out so I did (my friend Aimee is obsessed with them ... pretty sure she has every one of them)

The thing that really stood out to me was that they have a colour as well as a scent. This makes the lip balm for me a bit more enjoyable and special to wear.

As far as moisturising goes these are really good! For some reason (no idea why) but I find that despite what I said above, the ones with less colour actually moisturise my lips more.

But yeah, really recommend these pretty sure you've heard loads of raving reviews already but let me tell you again they are in fact amazing.

Here is my collection:

  • Cherry Me. Where do I start with this one? The colour is fantastic with so much pigmentation and the smell is dreamy it smells just like cherries.
  • Pink Punch. Probably my least favourite out of the three but don't get me wrong it's still an amazing lip balm. It has a bright pink colour but doesn't have a particular scent.
  • Peach Punch. Ugh so good can't get enough! Probably the simplest of the three but I feel like it's more softening for my lips and it does smell really nice!

My Makeup Collection 2015

Hello everybody!

Today I thought I'd share my makeup collection with you and hopefully I'll help you make a few purchases.

I'm going to try to make this post as short as possible as there is a lot to get through.

Skin makeup

  • George Super Boost Foundation in No1 Ivory Silk. I don't recommend this because it's way too streaky, hard to blend and dark for my skin tone even though this is the lightest shade.
  • Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in 02 Cool Medium. This is my Holy Grail concealer, highly recommend this!
  • Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer in 010 Ivory. Another one of my faves!
  • Avon Concealer Stick. If your skin is amazing but you just need a slight touch up this is perfect for you. But if you have dark circles or blemishes you might want to look for more coverage.
  • No7 Creme Touch Face Powder in 12 Honey Milk. It's a little too cakey for me but if you like your makeup like that this is a really good powder.
  • Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in 001 Transparent. Love love love this, I'm sure you've heard amazing things about it but let me tell you again, this is one of the best powders out there.
  • Technic Bronzer Duo Set 1. This comes with two colours, a light and a dark brown. Cute packaging but I find it's really hard to apply as the compounds are way too small.
  • Technic High Lights Liquid Highlighter. Great dupe for High Beam by Benefit, in fact the packaging is identical, but this looks a bit too unnatural for me as it's really glittery and this shows up on your face.
  • Collection Gorgeous Glow Blush Block. Again, too unnatural for me, but it's really pigmented. It acts as a blusher, bronzer and highlighter with gold and pink shades.

Eye makeup

  • Flutter Eye Shadow Palette. I bought this for a friend but somehow I ended up getting it back! There is a light pink, a sparkly silver, a mauve, a taupe and a dark sparkly pink. Again, really cute packaging but the content disappointed me. The shadows aren't pigmented at all, are hard to blend and just aren't the colours I would wear.
  • Active Cosmetics Eye Shadow. This palette contains four colours including a light pink, a lilac, a mauve and a dark purple. These are a lot more pigmented than the Flutter palette and are way easier to blend.
  • No7 Stay Perfect Eye Shadow. This is something my nan gave me. I really like it, it's a dark purple infused with glitter. The only time I wear this would be for a party or night out because it's definitely not something I would wear everyday (I stick to subtle smokey eyes) but the shadow is amazing. So pigmented and lasts ages.
  • George Glamour'eyes Precision Liquid Liner in 18 Sorcerer. Like I said in my Mac Cremesheen Dupe post, I hate this and don't recommend it. Way too watery, smudges really easily and is just hard to apply.
  • Avon Super Extend Extreme Mascara. Again something my nan gave me but I really don't like it. It doesn't make your lashes look long or full at all ... and it's blue mascara. Not what I would wear but if you like the sound of it go for it.
  • Avon Super Shock Max Mascara. This mascara is way different, first of all it's black and actually does what it advertises. Really recommend this as it makes your lashes look long and black and doesn't create clumps.
  • Barry M Lash Vegas Mascara. This mascara is okay, I prefer Avon Super Shock Max but I definitely recommend this to people who have more money to spend.

Lip makeup

  • Kate Moss Lipstick in 40. What can I say? It's a nude with orange undertones ... super moisturising and pigmented ... love love love! If you're obsessed with nude lipsticks, I really recommend this!
  • Avon Lipstick ?  Don't know the shade but it is like a raisin colour. It's not my colour, but if you like dark colours like this I really advise you get it.
  • George Lipstick in 17 Small Talk. This lipstick is amazing! I raved about it in my Mac Cremesheen Dupe post, so if you are interested you can read it and see what you think.
  • Technic in 20605 Sassy. This is a bright pink, but I find it very wearable is it is similar to Frost finishes by Mac. It just leaves a sheer wash of colour on the lips. As for pigmentation, not too great but then again it is a sheer lippie.
  • Avon Perfect Wear Plump and Stay lipstick/lipgloss. I'm confused about this one as it applies like a lipgloss but looks and feels like a lipstick. Anyway, this is double sided and comes with the coloured lippie itself and then a primer that keeps it on for longer. The colour is a dark purple mauve so I prefer wearing this in the winter really.
  • Avon Extra Lasting Plump and Stay. Pretty much the same as Perfect Wear but I think it's a newer version. The colour is exact too.
  • Makeup Gallery Shine On Lipgloss. I love this colour, it's like a pink-nude, which I'm obsessed with as you know, but everything else about it is really bad. It's too gloopy, doesn't last long at all and is really drying for your lips.
  • 2 Active Cosmetics Lip Gloss palettes. I really don't like these for the same reasons as above, but the colours are beautiful. There is a bright pink, dark mauve, orangey-nude and dark orange.

And that's all, if you have any questions or requests let me know.

Products I Can't Live Without Tag

Hello everybody!

Today I thought I would do the Products I Can't Live Without Tag. I was tagged by my gorgeous friend Jodie :)

  • Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in 02 Cool Medium. This is my Holy Grail concealer, I'm sure you've heard tons of raving reviews about it. This concealer covers blemishes, pimples, redness and even tackles dark circles. It's amay-zay!
  • Avon Super Shock Max Mascara in Black. I can't go out without a bit of mascara - I don't look awake otherwise. It's my favourite makeup item because it can really make you look awake and add so much drama to your look. This one is amazing as it sends your lashes sky high without clumps.
  • Next Pucker Up Lip Balm in Raspberry. My lips get extremely dry and cracked, especially in the colder months, so a good lip balm is essential for me. It's hard finding a lip balm that isn't greasy but moisturises your lips at the same time. This one is amazing, it moisturises your lips and you don't have to keep reapplying it - a little goes a long way. I also love the raspberry scent. Not only that but the price was ridiculously cheap at something like £3.
  • Carex Moisture Plus Hand Gel. I love this! Like my lips, my hands get dry very easily so I'm constantly on the lookout for a quality hand gel. I found this one particularly helpful for me as it not only restores moisture to your hands, it kills the germs. Really easy, perfect for when you're travelling or on-the-go.
  • Superdrug Naturally Radiant Brightening Eye Cream. I have huge dark circles, so an eye cream is a must-have. This one is fantastic because not only does it moisturise, soften and refresh the eyes, over time it reduces the appearance of dark circles. After using this I feel a lot more confident and don't feel the need for lots of concealer.
  • Beauty Formulas Deep Cleansing Nose Pore Strips. If you get a lot of blackheads like me, you might want to look into nose strips. They effortlessly remove dirt from your pores and leave them healthy and clean. These ones are great because, if removed correctly, there is no pain involved.
  • Avon Maximum Wear Top And Base Coat. This is brilliant! I couldn't live without this because it protects your nails, reduces the chance of them staining and leaves a beautiful shine on your nails. When used as a top coat, it acts as a primer to leave your polish lasting longer. This is seriously like magic in a bottle, it's a miracle worker so go and try it!
That's all, if you want a more detailed review on one of these products or have any questions or requests let me know.

Mac Cremesheen Dupe

Hello everybody!

If you live in the UK you probably visit George (Asda) quite regularly, a
nd you probably always walk past their makeup aisle. You're making a big mistake!

I've bought cosmetics from George before including an undereye concealer pen in the wrong shade, light pink eyeshadow and a bronzer duo, but I have used them up. (Well, apart from the eyeshadow which I dropped on the floor and it all crumbled to pieces!)

Yesterday I happened to wander into the makeup section and that's when I realised how cheap the products were. I decided to buy a few things including their Super Boost Foundation in No.1 Ivory Silk, their Glamour'eyes Precision Liquid Liner in 18 Sorcerer and their lipstick in 17 Small Talk. All this came to just under £15 I believe.

I tried them all out and wasn't impressed by the foundation and liquid liner. The foundation was way too dark (even though I bought the lightest shade), it was also streaky and hard to blend. The liquid liner was hard to put on my lids due to the applicator and it was way too watery. It smudged like crazy and I got in such a mess!

However, when I tried out the lipstick I was astounded at how good it was. I began comparing it to Mac Cremesheens, high-end lipsticks that are around £15 or maybe a bit less if you're lucky (talk about expensive!)

It looks a lot darker here than on the lips!

The packaging is distinctly different, the Cremesheens being black with a curved lid whereas the dupe is purple and rectangular. However, like Cremesheens, the George lippie was so moisturising and thick which is really helpful for people like me with desert dry lips. They're both really pigmented so they tend to last a reasonable amount of time. I've done my research and found that the closest shade to Small Talk is Ravishing - they are both a similar orange-pink.

Overall, they're really similar and you can't tell the difference when they're on your lips.

Most importantly, the dupe is only a fraction of the price! So go on, next time you visit Asda pick up one of their lippies. You won't regret it!

If you have any questions or requests just let me know.

Addicted To Lush

Hello everybody!

So ... if you can't already tell, I'm addicted to Lush. Yes, I'm actually ADDICTED. It hasn't even been a week since I last did a Lush post.

But can you blame me? Nobody can deny that their products are amazing!

Recently I've bought quite a few Lush products, so here I am with a collective Lush haul.

  • Brightside Bubble Bar. I've already used half of this, as you can see! This has a fiery orange colour and a citrus scent. This bubble bar isn't anything exciting, you drop it in the bath and it turns the water orange. I love the smell, I love the colour, but it's all a bit boring for me.
  • Dragons Egg. I've repurchased this bath bomb too many times! It isn't in the picture because I've already used it, but oh my gosh, where do I even begin with this bath bomb? If you've ever tried it, you'll know what I mean! This bath bomb is white with multi-coloured dots. It smells amazing with a fruity aroma, and when dropped in the bath it actually is as if a dragon is hatching out of it's egg! The white layer dissolves and releases colours like green, blue, orange and yellow and all the dots float around in your bath. Words can't even describe how amazing it is, however if you have dry or sensitive skin you might want to avoid it because it contains a generous amount of alcohol.
  • Candy Fun Bar. As you can tell, I've used a lot of this and it now looks quite small and deformed, but originally it's a long, thin bar. This smells gorgeous (like candy) and all you do is crumble some under running water and it creates bubbles. Take my word, it's great!

That's all I bought, I've gotta save up my money for next time! If you have any questions about these products just let me know.

Crush On Lush Haul

Hello everybody!

It's my favourite time of the year: the time when Lush sells all of their Halloween specials!

The other day, I popped into Lush and couldn't resist taking a look at their new range.

I love the feeling when I buy things from Lush. And, not only do their products make you feel luxurious, they're against animal cruelty.

I tried them all out and purchased the ones I liked so today I thought I'd share them with you.

  • Lord Of Misrule Bath Bomb. Although it's pea green colour puts a lot of people off, this bath bomb is truly amazing. It has a very musky, masculine scent and, as described on the Lush website, "brings mischievous revelry to the tub with a spicy herbal blend of patchouli and black pepper oil". When dropped in the bath, it fizzes and unleashes colours of pink and green. It makes bathtime such a fun experience and leaves your skin feeling refreshed.
  • Sparkly Pumpkin. It's orange, glittery outer design just looks glamorous! It smells like citrus fruits and consists of juniperberry, lime and grapefruit oils. When crumbled under running water, it creates bubbles and makes your bath a spooky orange. Your skin will be thankful after using it too.
  • Nightwing. This purple Shower Jelly smells like fruit pastilles and contains skin-softening properties. I've never tried a Shower Jelly by Lush before so I was really excited when I saw this. Just use as a soap and create a lather to gently cleanse your body and hair.

If you'd like to see the full range, visit www.lush.co.uk. If you'd like a full review on one of these products be sure to tell me in the comments.
